The light-duty 318-Y cable is designed for use in domestic appliances, such as those often found in kitchens and offices, with a voltage rating of 300/500V. It is suitable for use with ordinary duty portable appliances such as radios, table lamps and office equipment where the potential for mechanical stresses and mechanical damage is low.The 318-Y range is manufactured in accordance with BS EN 50525-2-11 and European harmonised standard H05VV-F (often misspelled as HO5VVF).
